3 year old girl killed in Gun Battle with her Father and Police

3 year old Girl Killed in Shootout – Prince George, Maryland – A 3 year old girl was shot and killed today on the 4200 block of Farmer Road when her father had a shootout with Prince George police that led to a police pursuit around the city.

When speeding down Brand Avenue (near Beech Road) the man lost a wheel on his vehicle and fired his weapon at officers. He then fired again when driving to Interstate 95.

It is currently unknown whether the girl was shot by her father or one of the 5 police officers who opened fire. The name of the father has not yet been released and won’t be until the family has been informed.

Police reported the man fired on two people in the home, and fled the area in a Nissan Altima. A witness tipped off police and they initiated a pursuit in minutes.

William Alexander, the Prince George County Police spokesman, stated it was unknown if the officers knew the girl was in the car when they began firing.

Authorities are trying to figure out who had custody of the girl and if there were any domestic issues at the home.

Maryland State State police and Marlboro Heights Police were also involved in the pursuit and shootout.

**UPDATE** 

The three year old girl was reported stabbed and shot by her father, 38-year-old Frederick Roy Miller of Landover, during the chase.

Miller also shot the girl’s caretakers, an elderly man and woman in Camp Springs who are believed to be the child’s grandfather and great grand mother. They are currently in critical condition at a local hospital.
