Perseids Meteor Shower

Perseids Meteor Shower – August 11th and 12th are the best nights to see the Perseids Meteor Shower. Around 9 p.m. local time is the earliest you’ll be able to see the meteor shower. Later into the night as the moon rises the intensity will grow.

Things can always change due to a number of variables that shift the peak earlier or later, and the bright moon definitely won’t help either, but with a little patience you’ll be able to see it.

According to Wikipedia:

“The stream of debris is called the Perseid cloud and stretches along the orbit of the comet Swift-Tuttle. The cloud consists of particles ejected by the comet as it travels on its 133-year orbit.[5]
