6 year old Boy Attacked by a Mountain Lion in Cupertino CA – A 6 year old boy was attacked by a mountain lion near a winery in Cupertino according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department.

He was hiking near Montebello Road at approximately 1 p.m. when he was reportedly dragged into a bush by the mountain lion.

His parents, who were with him at the time, were able to pull him away from the animal and bring him to the Valley Medical Center hospital. The boy is expected to survive with only minor injuries.

This is the first reported mountain lion attack in years for the area. Sheriff’s deputies closed the trail in search of the mountain lion but so far it has not been found.
