Baby Survives Being Stuck Under Father’s Dead Body for 3 Days

A 10 month old girl, Betty Jean Fields, survived being stuck under her 43 year old father, Jason Fields, for up to three days when he died and his decomposing body pinned her to the ground. When the Shreveport, Louisiana infant was found she was blistered and dehydrated but still able to breathe.

Reports from KSLA stated that the house only had box fans and was relatively hot. The girl was finally rescued when her 5 year old brother discovered his father dead and went to get help from the neighbors.

No autopsy is to be performed due to the condition of the body, and there is no suspicion that any crime was committed. It is believed that the father’s heart condition played a role in his death. The childrens’ mother was released from jail on an emergency appeal to take care of the children.
