The big Facebook Switch to Messenger App Isn’t Going so Well

Many Facebook users aren’t a huge fan of the new Facebook Messenger app. The App Store and Google Play are full of comments like “why force us?”, “too much”, and “deleting this sh*t”, and “thanks Obama”. Currently Google Play shows 100,000,000+ downloads of the new Facebook Messenger app along with a solid 4.1 out of 5 star rating from 7.1 millions users. The iTunes App Store displays a sad rating of 1.5 out of 5 stars.

Just this week Facebook began giving users alerts that the new Facebook Messenger App will be replacing the built in messaging function on the Facebook app for all mobile devices.

Lots of people are concerned about the terms of service and the app’s ability to collect large amounts of user information.

Facebook’s recent switch to the Facebook messenger app has made it jump to the top of the charts for both the App Store and Google Play.
