Joan Rivers In Critical Condition after Throat Surgery – 81 year old actress and comedian Joan Rivers has been hospitalized after she stopped breathing during a surgical procedure on her throat. She reportedly went into cardiac/respiratory arrest on Monday.

At 12:30 p.m. today the NYPD reported she was in critical condition, though conflicting reports via tweet from Ken Baker stated she was in stable condition.

Rivers and her daughter Melissa are currently stars of the show Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?

The actor was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2002, and has gone through many cosmetic surgeries including face-lifts, Botox injections, and many more. In total she’s had 739 procedures!

Born Joan Alexandra Molinsky on June 8, 1933, Rivers has been in the film industry for 55 years and authored 12 best-selling memoir and humor books.

Joan Rivers is currently on life support at the Mount Sinai Hospital. Her family is hoping for the best but will soon have to decide whether to keep her on life support. Her daughter released a statement after Joan was placed in a medically-induced coma.
