McDonalds Cheeseburger in Stomach Acid Experiment – Hydrochloric Acid

What Happens When you Put a McDonald’s Cheeseburger in Hydrochloric Acid

We’ve all heard about the dangers of fast food for many years now. What most of us haven’t seen is what occurs when this fast food actually meets your stomach acid.

Hydrochloric acid is one of the acids found in your stomach that helps break food down to turn it into fuel for your body. This experiment performed by researchers from The University of Nottingham shows what happens when a McDonalds cheeseburger is broken down by your stomach acid.

The results aren’t very appetizing; the researches dunk the burger in acid for 3 1/2 hours and it turns into a gut-wrenching sludge. Remember this next time you think about where to go out to eat!
