South Carolina Cop Shoots Unarmed Black Man VIDEO – During a routine traffic stop for a seat belt violation on September 4th, a South Carolina Highway Patrol Officer asks a man, 35 year old Levar Edward Jones, for his license. When the man reaches to grab it, the officer opens fire on the unarmed man, and it’s all caught on the officer’s dash cam!

The office, Sean Groubert, was fired by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and charged with assault and batter of a high and aggravated nature. This felony usually carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

In the shooting Jones was injured in the hip; he is currently recovering at home.
