Unresponsive Small Plane Pilot Near D.C. 2 F-16s Dispatched – On Saturday two F-16 fighter jets were dispatched by NORAD to check out a pilot flying a small plane who wasn’t responding to them.
When they arrived, the military pilots noticed the pilot of the small plane was unconscious, and the plane subsequently crashed into the Atlantic Ocean after running out of fuel.
The plane entered restricted airspace in Washington D.C. at 13,000 feet instead of landing the plane where the pilot was instructed to land. He was originally headed for Virginia’s Manassas Regional Airport according to the FAA.
Nothing has been recovered after a search by the US Coast Guard.
The man’s identity has not yet been released by the Coast Guard; his family must be contacted first.
